Sustainable transport and mobility is a topic that concerns all of us. Across Europe, pioneering initiatives are being developed and sometimes these emerge from small communities where it might not be expected, like an expert group or a small town.
Under the banner of “Small Communities, Big Ideas”, the CIVITAS Forum 2017 will prove that size is no limit to innovation. The first draft of this year’s programme is now available to read.
The SUCCESS project will participate actively in several parts of the conference and will be represented by the coordinator LIST as well as the consortium partners AFT, VINCI Construction and Valencia Port Foundation.
On 27 September from 15:00h – 16:30h, the SUCCESS project is part of the session “Innovative approaches for engaging and supporting industry and city authorities in urban freight strategy development”. Together with the three other CIVITAS Urban Freight (UF) projects CITYLAB, NOVELOG and U-TURN, SUCCESS will present Guidance/Decision Support Systems for the planning of UF measures.
During the CIVITAS Deployment Day on 28 September, a new feature of this year’s forum aiming to connect developers of new tools and methods with potential users, the SUCCESS project partners will present a tangible table which allows explaining complex contexts and correlations in a simple and visual way. This tool concretely shows the impacts of construction logistics and helps demonstrating possible solutions to improve the situation. It thus supports evidence-based decision making for local authorities and construction companies.
