SUCCESS presentation in Valencia

The first SUCCESS project presentation took place in Valencia on the 23rd of June 2016. More specifically, the event was organized at the Valencian Federation of Construction Companies – FEVEC facilities. The event was focused on the current situation of the construction sector regarding mobility and logistics.

The opening ceremony of this event was done by the President of FEVEC, Francisco Zamora Catalá, the Project Manager of Fundación Valenciaport, Antonio Torregrosa, and the General Director of Fundación InnDEA Valencia, Rafa Monterde, as representatives of the three Spanish organizations that take part in the SUCCESS project.

The event was divided into two parts; the first one was focused on the challenges that the cities are currently facing. Ángel Navarro, from Fundación InnDEA Valencia, explained that the cities are not designed for large vehicles and in general there is a lack of space for loading and unloading operations. Nearly all European cities have trouble conciliating construction and the citizens’ life. The pollution is rising every day and for this reason new measure affecting mobility aProject presentation to stakeholdersnd logistics are being promoted and implemented by the Local Governments. The second part of the presentation was about the proposed solutions at local and European level. Salvador Furió, from Fundación Valenciaport, presented the SUCCESS project: partners, objectives, the pilot sites, brief description of Construction Consolidation Centres (CCC) and the possible solutions with simulated scenarios. While Giuseppe Grezzi, Councillor for Sustainable Mobility, from the Valencia City Council, explained the Valencian measures that the new local Government is implementing.

During the event, SUCCESS counted on the presence of 37 attendees. The attendees actively participated during the presentation, some questions were raised and a catering was served, at the end of the event, which allowed attendees and speakers to interact in a more relaxed way.
