Italian Pilot
About the project
The two separate pilot sites focus on the construction and rehabilitation of Hospital buildings.
Borgo Trento & Borgo Roma
Creation and rehabilitation of urban hospitals
Looking to enlarge the Public Hospital, the city of Verona hosts a pilot site divided into two construction sites: the Borgo Trento Hospital and the Borgo Roma Hospital.
The Borgo Trento Hospital is located in the northern part of the city, in the heart of a residential area, and close to the old city centre and important infrastructure (such as ring roads, etc.).
The Borgo Roma Hospital is at the opposite part of the City, in a dynamic and urbanised area, surrounded by industrial and cultural activities (University, Exhibition Centre etc.) and close to motorways and bypass accesses.

Although at different locations, both construction sites deal with the renovation and enlargement of existing edifices: some pavilions will be kept and refurbished, while other hospital buildings will be created.
As in the case of the Luxembourg City pilot site, the environment of these two sites could make the Construction Supply Chain difficult: the high population density and level of urbanisation, with activities, workplaces and commuting, could lead to pollution, recurrent congestion issues, especially in peak hours, and lack of parking facilities.
